One Laptop for Every Kid in Africa and other developing countries campaign

"Give one, Get one" is a program, also known as One Laptop Per Child (OLPC), for donating laptops for kids in developing countries. For a donation of $399, you will send a child in Africa a laptop, you will also receive one for your own recognition. This offer is only available in US and Canada. There are also many other good things that comes along with this, like free cell phone coverage and stuff - find out more on their website.

The laptop is called the XO, it's pretty much a mini, full functioning laptop that runs on linux, but much like a kid's toy. Find out about the XO here.

Donate one today! It's a good cause. It's for the future of our world.

Gotta love the gesture, but laptops when AIDS and malaria and famine are still major issues...?

So neither of you geniuses think that if those kids are properly educated, then maybe they will stand a better chance of not exposing themselves to the aids virus? Call me crazy, but if they grow up knowing what a virus is and how its spread, instead of thinking that its got something to do with evil spirits or bad juju. Then the likelihood of them not using protection during sex or using intravenous drugs will maybe go down a bit?
